FounderFamilia is designed for VC-backed Latine founders who have a track record of success. We make exceptions for bootstrapped founders with revenue greater than 250k. We welcome founders at various stages - from those who have raised initial funding to those generating significant revenue. Our community spans 19 Latine countries and includes founders across key sectors like fintech, AI/data analytics, healthcare, and education.

A former Chicago Public Schools strategist and Gates Foundation consultant, AJ has dedicated his career to transforming systems through data, strategy, and community leadership. He is a proud Surge Fellow and champion for diverse talent in tech and education, leading Innovare with a vision for inclusive impact across philanthropy, social enterprise, and K-12 innovation.

Yulkendy Valdez is a social entrepreneur and ecosystem builder dedicated to advancing equity in tech and venture. Named a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and TED Speaker, she began her career as co-founder of Forefront, supporting Fortune 500 companies in recruiting and retaining diverse talent. She later brought her expertise to Visible Hands and Google for Startups, where she built founder support programs for underrepresented entrepreneurs. Yulkendy is also the co-founder of Phenomenal Talent, a BIPOC-led agency connecting creators—speakers, artists, wellness leaders—with paid opportunities that align with their values. A Babson College alum and global facilitator, she is passionate about inclusive innovation, youth mental health, and shifting capital to historically excluded communities. At LaFamilia Foundation, Yulkendy contributes her deep experience in partnership building, founder advocacy, and storytelling to help shape a more just and joyful innovation economy.
